The Problems

Brand Summary

Text-Heavy Interface

The website was overloaded with text, making it difficult for users to fully utilize the platform’s potential and access crucial insights.

Limited Data Visualization

The existing design lacked effective data visualization, which prevented users from easily interpreting the presented data and extracting meaningful insights.

Repetitive Selections

Users faced repetitive tasks, as they had to manually adjust the timeframe for each data element, leading to frustration and inefficiency.

Restrictive Selection Options

The options were overly restrictive, allowing users to choose only one element at a time. Users would benefit from more flexible selection capabilities to enhance their analysis and decision-making.

Unstructured Page Layout

The page structure did not prioritize sections based on user needs or usage frequency, making navigation inefficient. There was no clear flow, which made it harder for users to follow key insights and understand the data in context.

Underutilized Negative Space

The design did not effectively utilize negative space, leaving several large empty areas on the page.

Market Share

Text-Heavy Interface

The website was again overloaded with text, making it difficult for users to navigate and extract meaningful insights efficiently.

Lack of an Intuitive Interface

The interface was not user-friendly, leading to confusion in the category selection and difficulties in interpreting the Share of Shelf data. Users struggled to find relevant information quickly.

Restrictive Selection Options

Users were limited to viewing only the top 100 selling products, with no flexibility to filter, sort, or customize the data based on their specific needs. This lack of flexibility made it difficult for users to conduct in-depth analysis and make informed business decisions.

Results

The redesigned version allows users to transform collected data from multiple marketplaces into actionable insights.

We identified user pain points and researched suitable data visualization techniques to enhance data presentation.

After completing our prototype, we conducted usability testing with both internal and external users, gathering valuable feedback that helped us further refine and improve the design.

Moreover, we introduced a new feature, Compare Page. This page enables users to customize their comparisons, whether by brand, seller type, marketplace, or date range, providing more flexibility in analyzing data.
